Since the Launch...

Sarah McDonnell

It has been around 3 weeks since we launched and I couldn't be happier with the amazing response! Not only have we been featured in Stylist Magazine, we have also found our way into the hands of many celebrities including the lovely Fifi Geldoff. I would like to say a big thank you for all of your support and I look forward to bringing you new products in the coming months.

P.S. Don't forget Valentines Day is only 2 weeks away...

Thanks
Sarah (Founder)

Go Big or Go Home?

Sarah McDonnell

A few people have enquired about producing large prints of my illustrations, so I quickly mocked up what they might look like, what do you think?

There's no business like show business!

Sarah McDonnell

The 'Lights. Camera. Action.' Illustration was inspired from my trip to Hollywood back in 2013, (I'm not saying that this happened though!).  Using a combination of colouring pencils and pens, I wanted to create something bright, fun and fabulous to reflect how I felt while strolling down The Walk of Fame.

Eames Lounge Chair Hues

Sarah McDonnell

The Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman has to be one of my favourite design icons.  Designed by Charles & Ray Eames, they sought to design a modern chair that had “the warm receptive look of a well-used first baseman's mitt.”  It has since become one of the most significant furniture designs of the 20th century — instantly recognisable and enduringly fresh.

This inspired me to colour in using a large range of warm hues and combine them with a bold blending technique to reflect the chairs character.

Playing with Silver Sharpies

Sarah McDonnell

Over the years, my box of colouring pencils has accumulated all sorts of unusual additions, from a set of neons my friend posted through my letter box one day, to the silver Sharpie I most likely picked up in a design workshop. I had great fun using it to colour in the 'Office Politics' illustration. When the light hits the silver, it is really brought to life.

Testing out the 1st Prototype

Sarah McDonnell

This week I received the 1st 'Fill Me In' prototype from my lovely printers in Yorkshire. It felt great to blow the dust off the battered box of colouring pencils that have travelled with me through school, university and around the world with my job. I couldn't think of a better scene to start with than the very first one I illustrated; Deep Sea Diver...
